This a picture of my grandmother Dr Suman Goyal.

She is about 4 years old in this picture and is learning Kathak from Ms. Alakhnanda.

Alakhnandaji was a very accomplished dancer and a great teacher. In fact her entire family was gifted with this art. They would perform, teach and choreograph dance sequences for famous dancers at world renouned locations and for the movies! Alakhnanda along with her sister Sitara Devi are responsible for the re invention of Kathak.

Mr Gopi Krishna belonged to the same lineage. He was a famous dancer in the 1960's. He acted, danced and choreographed amazing performances for Bollywood movies.
